New Pattern Release! Little Driver Wheel by Swoodson Says

Hi! I'm Stephanie, I blog at SwoodsonSays.com and create sewing patterns for handmade toys. I think there is something special about seeing kids play with something you've made -especially when they help pick out the fabrics or help you sew it! I couldn't find the toys I wanted to encourage my son's creativity, so I started sewing them - and now I'm sharing the patterns with you. Little Driver's Wheel - PDF Sewing Pattern from Swoodson Says. The perfect handmade toy for the little car, tractor, truck loving kid in your life.
My son is 2.5 and all about trucks and tractors - but gets frustrated when bedtime comes and the toys' sharp edges aren't fit for cuddling. Enter the Little Driver Wheel! A fleece softie that can be used for imaginative play or snuggles. I handed it to him in the car yesterday so he could "drive" as we went down the road and he had so much fun with it. Add a cardboard box with some markers and you have a whole day's worth of indoor activity! Little Driver's Wheel - PDF Sewing Pattern from Swoodson Says
The pattern features an optional "squeaker" horn in the middle. It requires an intermediate sewing level - you are expected to know how to applique (although I link to one of my tutorials, if you're not) and be comfortable sewing lots of curves. You have to be patient in pinning and sewing the circles or they will end up skewed! Little Driver's Wheel - PDF Sewing Pattern from Swoodson Says
A finished wheel measures about 12.5" and is just right for toddler sized hands. They'd make great birthday party favors, especially since they don't require too much fabric (and fleece is cheap!). Little Driver's Wheel - PDF Sewing Pattern from Swoodson Says
